According to FoxSports.com, Rivals.com, and ESPN.com, they should be. There are plenty of reasons to hype Pitt at Dayton (tomorrow night, 8pm on ESPN2), and although Pitt is undefeated and ranked 6th, Dayton is no pushover. The Flyers are 10-1 and boast an impressive win at No. 11 Louisville. In addition, expect the University of Dayton Arena to be packed, since Pitt is the highest ranked team to visit since 1984. Dayton ranked 26th nationally in attendance last year and the campus is fired up for the big game.
Don't be surprised if the Panthers look sluggish as this game opens up. They haven't played since last Thursday and will be playing their first game with Mike Cook out of the lineup (Cook will be replaced by redshirt freshman Gilbert Brown, who has played well but lacks experience). Still, even after the thrilling win a week ago, I think Pitt will hear the warnings and will come ready to play Saturday night. Dayton is a solid team who could keep the game close, but Pitt should escape with a nice road non-conference victory.
