MLB Clubs in the market for starting pitching

MLB Clubs in the market for starting pitching
MLB American League Pennant Odds are now posted and College Football Betting is almost here. There are always clubs looking for pitching at the trade deadline, some eyeing relievers, some preferring a starter, and some would like to add both. Let's take a look at the clubs appear to be in the market for rotation assistance.

Detroit Tigers
Since Phil Coke was removed from the rotation it became obvious that the Tigers needed help from outside the organization. Andrew Oliver and Charlie Furbush are the in-house, backup plans, but Hiroki Kuroda or perhaps even Erik Bedard could be in the cross hairs.

Texas Rangers
Texas has been linked to relievers Joel Hanrahan and Heath Bell already this season but may prefer to spend their resources on a starting pitcher. Last year they added Cliff Lee, and if Wandy Rodriguez is made available he could be jumping on a 200-mile flight to join a contender. If the Dodgers make Chad Billingsley available, the Rangers could see good value in the right-hander and part with valuable young talent in return.

New York Yankees
The Yankees have been keeping an eye on the market since losing out on Lee over the winter, but there may not be an ideal fit worth trading the club's top prospects for, unless Florida is willing to discuss Ricky Nolasco or especially Anibal Sanchez, and if that is the case the Rangers will want a piece of that action, too. Bedard could fit in the Bronx if the price is right, and the Yankees may even settle for some depth on a mid-rotation answer -- Kuroda? -- just to play it safe against injury. Check out the latest Vegas Odds and MLB Picks.
