Before we get into out UFC 132 Predictions
and our UFC 132 Picks
some more UFC news. Turns out that Stephan Bonnar's injury is a grade II tear of his MCL that will require he wear a brace for the next six weeks. Bonnar told the Northwest Indiana Times that he was afraid the knee injury was something more severe that would sideline for a long period of time, which happened to him a couple of years ago.
"I was worried it would be as serious as the big knee injury of '08," Bonnar told The Times. "But thankfully, it's not -- six weeks to start training and no surgery as opposed to six months to start training with surgery (last time)."
Though he expressed disappointment that he wouldn't be able to fight in a UFC Picks matchup on the Milwaukee card on Aug. 14 (he's from the Midwest), this still means Bonnar's timetable for recovery would jibe with a match with Koscheck's autumn return, if the UFC is thinking of putting that catchweight grudge match together.
