Shackleford 2011 Kentucky Derby Odds & 2011 Kentucky Derby Predictions - It’s time for

online betting for Kentucky Derby odds, and things have really opened up when it comes down to contenders as Uncle Mo, one of the favorites alongside Dialed In, has been ruled out of the big race due to a gastrointestinal infection. That means there is room for another horse move up the ranks, and Shackleford looks like he’s ready.

 

Vegas Odds Shackleford has run five races in his career, and one was a win in a maiden race at Churchill Downs back in November, one of his two victories. But his most impressive performance came in a loss as he was beat out by Dialed In at the Grade 1 Florida Derby, when Dialed In had to come from behind. Shackleford gave Dialed In all he could handle and more as he broke out to a fast start and continued the pace, he just got beat by a horse who refused to lose. However, it showed Shackleford and his stable that they could run with the best of the best, and that has sparked some horse betting players to show faith in him. Shackleford will continue with Jesus L. Castanon in the saddle, and Castanon has been with Shackleford for their last three races, so there is a sense of continuity.

 

Trainer Dale Romans has been careful with Shackleford, leading him in some great workouts in the build-up to the 2011 Kentucky Derby Picks, and Romans is searching for his first big win since he won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf with Tapitsfly in 2009. Romans and Castonon will aim to snag the win with Shackleford from post position No.14, where only two horses have won the Kentucky Derby from: Carry Back in 1961, and Middleground in 1950.

 

Your price per head bookie will tell you that anything can happen in the Kentucky Derby, and any horse can win on any day (see Mine That Bird in 2009). This is one of the most wide-open Derbies in recent memory, and things are even more unpredictable now that Uncle Mo is out. Shackleford was 20-1 Horse Racing Odds  with Uncle Mo in the field, but don’t be surprised if his horse betting odds make a move on Friday and Saturday before the race starts. A lot of people think that Shackleford can pull this off based on his second-place run at the Florida Derby, and surely, his stable wants another shot at Dialed In as they don’t think he can pull off another comeback as he did at Gulfstream Park. Kentucky Derby Predictions Shackleford has looked very strong in workouts, and if he gets off to another good start, he could run away from the field.
