2011 Kentucky Derby Predictions - Mucho Macho Man Looks To Make A Statement
posted 6 years ago

Those checking out Kentucky Derby odds will be looking outside of the favorites, Uncle Mo and Dialed In, in order to get some value, and a horse on the rise is Mucho Macho Man, who has a very solid record, and he’s looking to show that he can keep up with the big guns in the “Run For The Roses”.

2011 Kentucky Derby Predictions - Mucho Macho Man Looks To Make A Statement - In his last eight races, Mucho Macho Man hasn’t finished lower than fourth, and he has finished in the top three in seven of those races, including a pair of wins. His last five races have been graded-stakes races, and he’s finished in the top four in all five, including a third-place run in the Grade-2 Louisiana Derby behind Pants On Fire and Nehro, who both have high hopes for the Kentucky Derby as well. Rajiv Maragh has been in the saddle for the last two races, including a win in the Risen Star Stakes, and even those to bet on MLB odds know that continuity is a great thing to have. Whether it’s a pitcher and a catcher or a jockey and a horse, it pays to be comfortable with your partner, and it appears as though Maragh and Mucho Macho Man are finding the comfort level you need to be successful in the big races.

Trainer Kathy Ritvo is the only female trainer in the Derby, and she knows all about being a longshot as she needed heart surgery to survive cardiomyopathy, and with her new lease on life, she decided to get into the business of training horses. She is very confident in the abilities of Mucho Macho Man, who may be the youngest horse in the Kentucky Derby field, but he’s also the largest in terms of size. He’s done well in workouts leading up to the Derby, including on a soggy track on Tuesday, and his stable says he’s not even breathing hard, and you don’t need a 5dimes review to tell you that stamina is a massive issue at Churchill Downs, especially if the surface is muddy as it has been in recent years.

Mucho Macho Man definitely has the stuff to make some noise at Churchill Downs on Saturday, and he shouldn’t be afraid of the competition as he’s gone up against some very talented horses, such as the aforementioned Dialed In, Pants On Fire, Nehro and To Honor And Serve, who beat Mucho Macho Man twice in the month of November at Aquaduct. He’s a very balanced horse, we just have to see how he closes the race. Kentucky Derby Predictions He shouldn’t be far out of the pecking order and with a strong finish, Mucho Macho Man will be a handsome payout in your online sportsbook.
