 UFC Fight Night Odds
posted 6 years ago

UFC Betting Online: The Ultimate Fighter alum Nam Phan will get a shot to revenge a loss against a fighter many thought he beat in their first go-round -- Leonard "Bad Boy" Garcia on the undercard of UFC Fight Night Live on Spike TV. The fight card takes place at the KeyArena in Seattle, WA on March 26, 2011. Fights are scheduled to start at 9 p.m. EST. Bet On UFC Odds Fight Night bouts at Nam Phan -160 (16-8; 7 KOs, 5 SUBs) vs. Leonard Garcia +130 (15-6-1; 3 KOs, 9 SUBs)

It must not feel very good to have your arm raised in victory yet get showered by boos. Actually, Garcia didn't just get showered with boos, the crowd chanted "Buuuuull-shit. Buuuuuull-shit." to the point where Garcia actually apologized in his victory speech and said he'd be willing to face Phan in a rematch.

Phan was fresh off a semi-finals showing in The Ultimate Fighter, where he fought one weight class above his natural fighting weight of 145. Throughout the season, he showed veteran poise and very good technical boxing skills. While he's new to the octagon, Phan has actually been fighting professionally for a decade in smaller promotions such as King of the Cage and Palace Fighting Championships.

Garcia was a late replacement for an injured Alex Caceres, and the lack of a full training camp appeared to have its affect on him as he noticeably tired in the second and third rounds. To his credit, he put on an exciting fight as usual, throwing his usual bombs while standing and trading.

A BJJ brown belt, Garcia is the bigger, stronger fighter. He's throws serious heat with every punch, although it really isn't the most economical use of his energy. With a full training camp this time around, I don't think Leonard Garcia gasses this time and really puts the pressure on the smaller Phan. While the Vietnamese-American is a very experienced fighter, he doesn't have the stinging power in his punches that Garcia does. His short stature doesn't really help him on the ground much either.

UFC Predictions While I think probably did win the first fight, Garcia will be extra motivated after being mocked for winning. Plus the full training camp will make a world of difference. The Mexican-American is one of the toughest fighters in the weight class, and he'll take a few shots to land a few giant ones of his own. His power advantage gives him the edge in this fight. As an underdog according to the UFC fight odds, he's a fantastic play.

Bet: +130 on Garcia to win by TKO
