"The guy has always been big, but he looks even bigger now," Wolfe said. "I told him that, and he said everybody keeps saying that to him."
Turner has been larger than life. The ex-Huskie, in his first year with the Atlanta Falcons, leads the NFL in rushing with 543 yards — 409 more yards than Wolfe has in one-plus seasons with the Bears. But Wolfe still has some bragging rights against the guy he followed at NIU: Wolfe's career yardage total of 5,164 is the best in school history, just ahead of Turner's 4,971.
"I always knew Mike would do well in the league," Wolfe said, "but Mike never had a legitimate opportunity [before this year]. Through some spot duty the last four years, he was able to set himself up for a pretty good situation."
