One man suffered life-threatening injuries and two others were sent to hospital Thursday night after a triple shooting behind the North York Sheridan Mall.
The three men, all believed to be in their twenties, were shot shortly after 6 p.m.
One man was shot in the neck-and-shoulder area and was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital. The others were both hit in the leg, one more seriously than the other, said EMS duty officer David Viljak. One was also taken to Sunnybrook while the other was taken to a local hospital.
Police cordoned off much of the mall’s rear parking lot and a narrow walking bridge that extends from the mall over a ravine to the back of 180 Chalkfarm Dr., which is located just east of Jane and Wilson.
Thursday night, officers were still trying to pinpoint exactly where the shooting occurred.
Shahidul Islam was working at the nearby Everything for a Dollar Store when he heard “four or five” shots ring out.
“After the shots I looked out (the window) and saw people running, like to save themselves,” he said.
Police were with the victims in hospital Thursday night, said staff Sgt. Guy Courvoisier.
No one has been arrested.
